Build your own screenprinting exposure box

Johnny Two Tone Club just added to it’s asset column with a fully custom built 900mm x 600mm light box/exposure box complete with a rack of six Phillips ‘Actinic’ 18W BLACK LIGHTS (from Lamp Replacements Balcatta WA). Glass, lights and materials came to around $250, and the blueprints will be available here soon, however, in the meantime, feast your two-tone eyes on this baby.

Also, good friend and fellow AGDA national committee member Nathanael Jeanneret from Tassie, has released a great PDF for Screenprinting for fun at home.

Direct link to the fact sheet here.

Nice One! And now for the fun bit – the calibration. It’s worth getting a digital timer and solid state relay from Jaycar to make sure the timing is consistent. Drop me a email if you need some more details.

Finally! someone has created some plans for the making of an exposure unit!
I would love to see those when you finally release them. I am doing non-profit t-shirt sfor foster care and orphanages in South America, Colombia. I am trying to keep my costs down, and love the idea of a DIY.

    thanks again,

    Emily

While I didn’t actually make the box – the unit is pretty straight foward to make. I am using this unit with my class – so I’ll let you know how it goes….

Awesome box! I can’t get the link to the fact sheet to work. Is there anyway you could post a new one or email me one?
    Thanks 🙂

Hi Chad, glad you like it and thanks for letting us know about the fact sheet link.

We got in touch with site owner, Nathanael Jeanneret, and he directed us to an updated fact sheet which you can download here: http://www.onetonnegraphic.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Screenprinting_Factsheet_2013.pdf

We’ve updated the links in the post as well.

    Hello Chad,

Any chance you’ve made blueprints to the exposure box as of yet?
